Version 4 - 2024-10-25

Focus is now back on the railing and fences side. Previous blueprints are available in the Legacy directory.

Function Library
Moved all functions from the parent blueprint to a blueprint library, including Light and Decal placements. Optimized some functions. Functions can now be placed in any blueprint not just the parent blueprint.

Nanite / Lumen
Replaced all modular optimized meshes with high polygon versions to be used with Nanite. Enabled Nanite for them (except the glass railings - enable them if your engine version supports translucent materials with Nanite)

Various

  • Meshes are now supporting standard tiling materials
  • Meshes still have a functional lightmap in case baked lighting is used.
  • Added tiling wood materials
  • Cleaned up the existing levels and added a new level for fences.

Product Version 3.1 - Dec 2023 - UE 5.0+

This version decluttered the product and focusses on the Spline Tools function library. All files are now located in Content/SplineToolsSDot.
  • Blueprints / V3: has the parent blueprint and some examples
  • Blueprints / V1_V2: has the legacy blueprints
  • Levels: There are 2 new demo levels
  • Meshes / Fences: Every fence type has specific setup blueprints ready to be placed
  • Meshes / Railings: Every railing type has specific setup blueprints ready to be placed
  • Some more blueprints are in the Building / Wall and Exterior folder

I hope this makes the product easier to use, more practical, and less confusing than it was before.

Previous Versions and UE4

The directory for previous versions is RailingsBPV1. The latest version (see above) has a new main directory to avoid migration issues.

The Unreal 4 version has 90% of the content the latest Unreal 5 version has. It's just a little bit harder to find what you are looking for.

Version 1

  • BP_RailingsOnSpline
