La Nina
We had a lot of rain here in Australia. Canberra was no
exception. Although the weather is still better than in
Europe I am hoping for a good summer this year. Das Wetter war nicht so gut die letzten 2 Jahre. Viel
Regen, kalt im Winter und kein toller Sommer letztes
Jahr. Das liegt an La Nina, die Schwester von El Nino.
Angeblich soll sie dieses Jahr von El Nino abgelöst
werden. Vielleicht wird der Sommer dann besser als der
Letzte war.

Bawley Point
A few friends from work and I did a weekend trip to
Bawley Point. Ein paar Freunde vom waren mit mir für ein Wochenende
in Bawley Point.

2K Australia
Now we are called 2K Australia again. Here we have a BBQ in the backyard.
We are also back working with Irrational Boston on Bioshock Infinite.
2K Marin heißt nun wieder 2K Australia und wir arbeiten im Moment wieder mit dem alten Partner Irrational Games, Boston an Bioshock Infinite.
Hier sind einige der Leute bei einem BBQ auf dem Parkplatz zu sehen.

Canberra surroundings
There are mountains around Canberra. The area is large,
empty and usually dry. Snow fields in winter or the
beach in summer can be visited for a day trip. Sydney
is a boring 3 1/2 hour bus ride away.
This is a view from Mt Stromlo.
Die Gegend hier is ziemlich bergig. Die höchsten Berge
Australians sind nicht weit weg. Im Winter kann man
schifahren. Im Sommer kann man zum Strand fahren.
Sydney ist 3 Stunden Busfahrt entfernt.
Mt. Stromlo
The burned out telescope on Mt. Stromlo. A violent bushfire hit Canberra in 2003. Destroying the Mt. Stromlo observatory and burning down 500 houses.
Today not much is left visible from the destruction.
Im Januar 2003 zerstörte ein Feuer die Sternwarte auf dem Mount Stromlo. Später gingen auch mehr als 500 Häuser in Canberra in Flammen auf.
Heute sieht man kaum noch was von der Zerstörung.
Byron Bay Weekend
I met my Brisbane friends for a Byron Bay weekend.
Wild
weather as always this year. Langes Wochenende in Byron Bay. Mit Ketrina, Ray,
den
Kids, Russ and Kylie.
Winter activities
During the day it can be pleasant during winter. Here we play some golf. I am pretty bad.
Karmayne And Gareth's Wedding
Karmayne and Gareth's wedding organized mostly by Ketrina for
her sister. We had a great time with wales cruising just off the
beach in front of the house.
Later we went for a couple of nights to the Goldcoast Hinterland and spent a good time fishing in the bush.
Ketrinas Schwester Karmayne kam mit ihrem Mann nach Byron
Bay um zu heiraten. Wir hatten ein tolles Wochenende am Strand.
Wale waren in der Bucht, einige nur 100m from Strand entfernt.
Der zweite Teil des Kurzurlaubs fand im Hinterland statt.

I moved again. New address is 8/62 Henty St, Braddon ACT 2612.It's a small block with only 4 units. It's an ensemble of blocks like this. Pretty leavy. The photo shows the balcony.
My appartement
A panorama shot of living area of my flat.
I'm standing in the kitchen area. On the left side is the balcony, eating table and desk. On the right side is the launch and TV. Further through you can see the bedroom. On the very right side is the toilet, a walkthrough cupboard and the bath room.
Pretty good floor plan despite the odd position of the toilet and the relative small living space.
Meine Wohnung.
Ich steh in der offen Küche. Links ist der relative große Balkon. In der Mitte Esstisch und Schreibtisch. Rechts ist die TV Ecke mit der Tür zum Schlafzimmer. Ganz rechts kann man die Toilette sehen, gefolgt von einem Abstellraum/Schrank und dem Badezimmer.
Die Wohnung ist relative klein aber der Grundriss ist ok. Gut ist dass ich zwei Seiten Fenster habe, dass ist hilfreich für die Klimakontrolle.
New phone
I couldn't ignore smart phones any longer. So here is a shot taken with my Nexus S. Best thing is GPS navigation though.
In the background is my HP 2800 Inkjet A3 printer.
Dann hab ich halt auch mal ein Smartphone gekauft. Hier is ein Photo das ich mit der Camera gemacht habe. Am Besten ist die GPS Navigation.
Im Hintergrund mein A3 Drucker.
Olaf und Elke
Olaf and Elke visiting from Germany. Some of the rare
sunny days they could enjoy. Olaf und Elke waren hier zu Besuch in Australien. Wir
haben uns erst in Sydney getroffen und spatter sind sie
dann nach Canberra gekommen.
